Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of the Rural Municipality of Mountain held Wednesday, April 25th, 2018 in the R.M. of Mountain Council Chambers in Birch River, Manitoba.

The meeting was called to order at 10:15 A.M. by Reeve Marvin Kovachik, quorum being present.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain renew the Certificate of Insurance with Western Financial Group with the additions and disposals listed in Schedule “A” attached hereto;
AND THAT the CAO be authorized to sign on behalf of the Municipality.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby approve work orders #26/18 to #27/18 attached hereto.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby contract Don Michaluk to complete the Pine River Water Plant assessment as required by the Office of Drinking water.

WHEREAS the Rural Municipality of Mountain received Health Hazard Order from Manitoba Public Health for 114 Louise Avenue, Birch River;
AND WHEREAS attempts to contact the estate and any other relevant parties was to of no avail;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the municipality undertake the works described in the ORDER and add costs to the tax roll as outlined in Section 12 of Rural Municipality of Mountain By-Law No. 09/01.

WHEREAS the Swan Valley Health Facilities Foundation propose to purchase a CT Scanner to be used in the Swan Valley Health Center;
AND WHEREAS benefits of having this medical equipment within our community would save insurmountable amounts of time, money and resources not only for residents of the Rural Municipality of Mountain, but also by Manitoba Health and the Regional Health Authority in sending patients to other hospital facilities for these services;
AND WHEREAS a CT scanner within the Swan River Valley would mean a great deal of importance to the entire Rural Municipality of Mountain population in the potential to save lives by reducing the time required to get to a health facility with this equipment;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain support the efforts of the Swan Valley Health Facilities Foundation to request the Minister of Health, Seniors & Active Living and the Prairie Mountain Regional Health Authority to support the purchase and operation of a Computed Tomography Scanner for the Swan Valley Health Care Center.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT District Fire Chief of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby be authorized to attend the MAFC Conference Meeting in Selkirk, MB on May 31 – June 2, 2018;
AND THAT expenses be allowed for same.
