The Community Foundation of Swan Valley (CFSV) is now receiving applications for the 2017 Granting Period.
The CFSV is a charitable organization founded by local citizens to help people invest in building a community that is a better place to live, work and play. Since its inception in 2005, the CFSV has provided over $375,000 in funding across the Swan Valley. This year the CFSV has allocated over $80,000 in interest income to be granted through local projects, bursaries and scholarships.
“Projects must benefit primarily the people of the Swan Valley Community which includes the Town of Swan River and the towns and rural areas of the Municipalities of Swan Valley West, Minitonas-Bowsman and Mountain.” said Lynda Leslie, chairperson of the Granting Committee.
In order to receive a grant the organization must be a qualified donee under the income tax act. Qualified donees are organizations that can issue official donation receipts for gifts they receive and are eligible to receive gifts from registered charities. Non-profit organizations who do not qualify may still be able to partner with qualified donees to act as intermediaries under some conditions. For more information or to download a grant application visit the CFSV website at cfswanvalley.ca.
Deadline for applications is October 31, 2017.
