A Great Celebration of Fiddling Music

The Minitonas Fiddling Program held their 11th Annual Spring Concert on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Minitonas Early Years School Gym.

Music instructor, Lyneta Grenier and the students had worked very hard to prepare for the wonderful evening of music and were excited to showcase their fiddling and guitar playing skills. Emcee for the evening, Peter Fleming kept the program running smoothly and entertained the audience throughout the evening.


Bria Boychuk, Aiden Boychuk and Tina Copeland who have been practicing together for 3 years play a concert favorite
– Memories of Paris.
Malek Watson and Tasha Chartrand, 4th year students treated us to Britches Full of Stitches.


Stephan Kovachik, Liam Dodd, Devin Todosichuk, Sammy Moshenko and Mason Klekta our beginner guitar group strummed Ode to Joy.


Our intermediate guitar group, Leo Chartrand, Bryn Zamzow, Autumn Klekta and Katie Smith entertained the crowd with Titanium and Dust in the Wind.

8th year fiddle players Kristen Boychuk and Bryn Zamzow display their talent with Florence Killen’s Waltz, Dumont’s Reel and Smash the Window.



Our talented instructor, Lyneta Grenier pleased the crowd with Faded Love, St Anne’s Reel, Red Headed Fiddler and Sherbrooke Reel. It was great to see the guitar students provide backup for some of the music.



Concert Guest Performer, Tiara Davy got the crowd toe-tapping to Buckskin Reel, Travellers Jig, Bowing the Strings, Maple Sugar and Maidens Prayer.



A special thanks to the students and families of the program, instructor-Lyneta Grenier, Guest Performer-Tiara Davy, Northwest Metis Council for sponsorship, SVSD, MEYS, MMYS-Mark Simpson, Christina and Peter Fleming, Kevin Penner, all of the volunteers and all who joined us to support and encourage our fiddling students.
