The Conga line is always a crowd favorite!

Darren Boryskavich, Parkland’s World Olympian from Russell was also honoured and shared his experience competing in the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria last month with Cobras Coach Cecil Ames.

Darren won bronze in the 100m snowshoe, 200m snowshoe and gold in the 4x100m snowshoe relay. Darren is an inspiration to all of our athletes and his determination, commitment and hard work are qualities of a true Olympian.

Special Olympics Parkland Region would like to thank all those who pledged our athletes, Swan River Elk’s, Steven Ames of Bad Horsey Productions for the great music, Pizza Place for the delicious chicken, the Winnipegosis and Russell coaches and athletes for making the trip to Swan River and everyone who helped make it a great afternoon for our athletes. Everyone enjoyed the good food, good tunes and had great fun!
