Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of the Rural Municipality of Mountain held Wednesday, January 25th, 2017 in the R.M. of Mountain Council Chambers in Birch River, Manitoba.

The meeting was called to order at 10:02 A.M. by Reeve Marvin Kovachik, quorum being present.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Agenda for the January 25th, 2017 Regular Meeting of Council be adopted as presented.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held December 29th, 2016 be adopted as presented, all requirements having been complied with.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held January 11th, 2017 be adopted as presented, all requirements having been complied with.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-Law No. 01-17, being a By-Law to provide for the participation in the Manitoba Mutual Aid System, be given first reading.

WHEREAS Fire Department Purchasing Policy states that all purchases of the Fire Department must be authorized by Council in advance;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain approve the purchase requests as per Schedule ‘A’ attached hereto.

Councillor Forbes declared an interest for Res. No. 21/17 and left the meeting.

RESOLVED THAT Cheque Nos. 20170077 to 20170135 amounting to $34,883.58, including Direct Deposit Payroll in the amount of $3,790.94, be approved for payment.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby approve work order #007/17 attached hereto.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council and CAO or __________________________ of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby be authorized to attend the G5 Meeting in Cowan, MB on February 6th, 2017;
AND THAT expenses be allowed for same.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby be authorized to attend the IMCD Tile Drainage Meeting in Dauphin, MB on March 6th, 2017;
AND THAT expenses be allowed for same.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby authorize the request of Intermountain Conservation District for a donation of Sponsorship Tile Drainage Workshop in the amount of $100.00.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council and CAO of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby be authorized to attend the fire protection workshop for Elected Officials Seminar in Brandon, MB on February 9th, 2017;
AND THAT expenses be allowed for same.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby enter into the Service Agreement with Ottenbreit Sanitation Services Ltd., attached hereto as Schedule ‘A’;
AND THAT the Finance Officer be authorized to sign on behalf of the Municipality.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby authorize the request of Prairie Mountain Health for a donation to “Camp Bridges” in the amount of $100.00.

WHEREAS Section 152(3) of The Municipal Act authorizes Council to close a meeting to the public to discuss certain matters;
BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain meet as a committee to discuss Personnel.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the meeting of the committee of the whole be adjourned, and that the regular meeting of Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain be re-opened to the public.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Regular Meeting of Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain be adjourned to meet again on February 8th, 2017.
