Building on the success of last year’s event, the Community Foundation of Swan Valley (CFSV) is gearing up to host their second annual Cultural Gala on November 18, 2016.
Valley residents are once again invited to attend a formal evening of delicious food served during a showcase of local multicultural performances, and all for a great cause.
Long after the lights fade and the gala becomes a distant memory, the evening will live on … providing a lasting benefit to the Swan Valley.
As part of the $100 per plate ticket price, charitable receipts will be issued for the cost of the ticket (less expenses for the evening). In 2015 the charitable receipt was $50.
The CFSV funds community projects with the interest earned on invested donations. The principal is never touched, creating a legacy of ongoing benefits with the Swan Valley being the sole beneficiary. Since its inception in 2005 the CFSV has funded over $300,000 in community projects across the Swan Valley and has reached over $2 million in endowment funds. “The foundation has been built by donations from residents, former resident and other individuals with ties to the Valley.” said CFSV Board Chair Bob Woodward. “Thanks to the generosity of the Valley we are now the third largest foundation in Manitoba.”
This year the CFSV has allocated approximately $75,000 from interest income to be granted to local projects, bursaries and scholarships. Each new donation makes more money available to fund local projects in future years, ensuring the Swan Valley will continue to be a strong and resilient place to live, work and play.
The opportunity to enjoy a relaxing and entertaining evening, while at the same time leaving a gift to benefit your community, makes the Community Foundation of Swan Valley Cultural Gala the must attend event of the year.
