In the little village of Pine River on Saturday June 18th, 2016 the day was beautiful with the sun in the sky and a light breeze blowing.

The breeze made it very comfortable for people to walk or drive through the town looking for balloons fluttering along the roadside indicating yard sale sites, since today was the Summer Start Sale (town wide yard sales).
This year we had 13 participants, with 3 of them as multi family sales. There were all types of items available for the shoppers, here’s a short overview;
a huge variety of baby (infant – toddler) essentials: (furniture, mats, potty/high chairs, crib, play center);
clothes for all ages: (infant – elderly); toys, jewelry, antiques,
kitchenware: (dishes, china, crystal, appliances, ornaments);
sporting goods: (fishing, golfing, ball games, super soakers);
music supplies: (books, sheet music, instruments, stands, cd’s, records, cassettes, 8-track tapes with player, stereo equipment);
games: (board, outdoor, puzzles);
books: (novels, magazines, health); videos,
plumbing/electrical supplies, pumps: (mostly new and lots of every item, could start a mini store);
camping supplies: (tents, coolers, chairs, ground mats, cooking pots/pans, lamps, umbrellas);
furniture, home made items (baking, crafts, wood working), yard tools, candles, pictures, frames, plants, appliances, atv’s, helmets, hair products and accessories, novelty items and much more.
This year we had a concession booth on site offering hot/cold beverages and a menu from the BBQ. The shoppers came from across the province, even some from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario.
A big thanks to all shoppers and participants for the wonderful effort. Thanks to the Pine River LUD Committee for sponsoring the advertising. We look forward to seeing you again next year and working to make it bigger and better. Have a great summer at the yard sales and watch for those balloons.
“Thanks to Valley Biz for the great web site and wonderful job of keeping our Swan Valley and others informed.”
