Stan Struthers, newly elected member of the Canadian Diabetic Association, recently returned from his first meeting in Toronto. He willingly accepted an invitation to speak to the local diabetic group.

It was very interesting for the group to have contact with someone from this Association. There was a good discussion on many aspects of diabetes and of how we can help each other.

It is good for Stan to know the local needs so that he can take information back to the Association, and it is good for us locally to have this connection where we can get further information and resources.

The local diabetes group meets in the hospital board room the second Wed. of each month from Sept. to June. We will now recess for the summer and resume again in Sept. Linda Gilchrist is the leader of the local group and is always looking for speakers and information to present to the group.

All diabetics and their families are welcome at these meetings.
