A team of 10 members made up of the Swan Valley Cobras, Tigers and Russell 5 Pin represented the Special Olympics Manitoba Parkland Region at the Gut-ter Done 5-Pin Bowling Competition on May 7, 2016.

The competition took place at Polo Park Bowling Lanes in Winnipeg and with over 150 bowlers in the competition our athletes played well with 5 placing in their divisions.

Ben Taylor with the Swan Valley Cobras took home 1st place in the Male 120-129 Division with 99 points over average. Janice Falkevitch, Russell 5 Pin also took home 1st in the Female 110-119 Division, 11 points over average. Anita Biech, long-time Cobra’s bowler placed 3rd in the Female 130+ Division. In the Male 130+ Division, John Schabert, Swan Valley Tigers brought home 1st place with 47 POA and Special Olympian; 43 time medalist Darren Boryskavitch from Russell brought in 3rd.
