Five Special Olympic Parkland Region athletes took part in the 2016 Kinsmen Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Max Bell Centre in Winnipeg on April 16th 2016.

The athletes have been training hard and were pleased with how well they did at the meet.
John Schabert placed 1st in the 200 meter-Division 5, 1st in the 400 meter-Division 3, 2nd in the 800 meter Division-1 and just out of the metals in Standing Long Jump-Division 5.
Jeremy Stephen just placed out of the metals in all 3 of his events 200 meter-Division 8, 400 meter-Division 3 and Standing Long Jump-Division 5.
Angie Ferland placed 1st in the 200 meter-Division 4, 2nd in the 400 meter-Division 2, and 1st in Standing Long Jump-Division 8.
Brennan Sauder placed 1st in the 200 meter-Division 1, 3rd in the 400 meter-Division 1, 1st in the 800 meter-Division 1 and 1st in Standing Long Jump-Division 8.
Ricky Zimmer placed 3rd in the 200 meter-Division 8, 3rd in the 400 meter-Division 4, and 1st in Standing Long Jump-Division 4.
The athletes will continue training for the 2016 Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Manitoba on May 28th.
