Tornado hunter Chris Chittick blew through Swan River on Thursday, April 21, 2016 with a presentation at Ecole Swan River South School and a meet and greet event at Formo Motors Ltd!

We are excited to report that the educational afternoon and evening BBQ was a huge success! Formo Motors was flooded with families enjoying a burger for supper cooked by the fire department crew, meeting Chris and getting a close up peek at his storm chasing F150.

The kids learned about fire safety tips in the Fire Department Education Trailer and met Sparky. Keziah Campbell had a line up all evening as kids waited to have their faces painted with wonderful designs and colors.

It was a fantastic evening with a great turnout, nice weather and good fellowship. Over $2,000 was raised at the event for the Swan River Fire Department and will be put towards specialized rescue equipment.

A big thank you to:
Mervs Audiotronics for the donation of the sound system,
Mike Perrick – our VPOC Ford Specialist – for supplying all the food,
Darren at Extra Foods for donating the drinks,
Swan River Fire Department crew for cooking up the tasty burgers,
Manitoba Hydro for donating the BBQ,
Keziah Campbell for the fantastic art work on little ones faces!
Everyone that came out and supported this event.
