Visual Art Show Features Amazing Local Talent

The Valley was in for a treat this year at the The Swan Valley Fine Arts Festival’s Visual Arts Exhibition, which was held from April 12-15, 2016.

Valley residents displayed their work in categories like Drawing, Painting, Sculpting, and Photography. The end result was an incredible Visual Art show that showcased an amazing level of community talent.


Their work was adjudicated this year by Laura May, who had the difficult job of critiquing each piece and identifying 10 “Adjudicator’s Top Picks”, in addition to naming the “Best in Show”.



The winning pieces were:

“Look at Me”, Katie Smith

“Best in Show” award was won by Terra Pohl for her oil painting, “Michelle”. The piece was also the recipient of the People’s Choice Award.

The Visual Arts Exhibition was held at the Temple Baptist Church, in tandem with the Music Festival. The Subcomittee would like to thank the Temple Baptist Church for their kindness and hospitality throughout the week.
