Swan Valley Communities That Care hosted the workshop and provided families with complimentary meals, child care and course materials.
Guiding Good Choices is a five-session program that teaches parents of children ages 9-14 how to reduce the risk that their children will develop drug problems. It is an interactive program that is proven to be effective in strengthening parent-child bonds and preventing teenagers from starting to use alcohol and other drugs.
Swan Valley Communities That Care would like to thank the many volunteers who assisted with the implementation of the program and who came out to assist with child care and program evaluation.
Plans are underway to host four more Guiding Good Choices sessions in 2016. If you are interested in participating in a workshop, please contact Jen Patterson, Program Coordinator at (204) 281-4561.
