On August 8, 2015, shortly before 2:00 am, Swan River RCMP attended a residence in the Starlite Trailer Court in response to a call of a residential fire.



Officers arrived at the scene and found the residence fully engulfed in flames. The body of a 64 year old male, identified as the lone resident of the home, was located inside. He has since been identified as Rene Distefano, AKA “Rambler”.

RCMP Major Crime Services are investigating the death as a homicide and are requesting the assistance of the public.
