Winnipegosis RCMP Investigate Fatal Collision

RCMP Media Release | On 2015-06-21 at approximately 6 pm, Winnipegosis RCMP were called to a collision on Main Street at the intersection of Richard Avenue in Camperville, involving two vehicles.

When police arrived on scene they found that one of the vehicles involved had rolled, ejecting the passenger who was found unresponsive. The 58 year old male from Camperville was transported to hospital, but was later pronounced deceased. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

The driver of the same vehicle , a 45 year old female from Pine Creek First Nation, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and is under investigation for impaired driving and dangerous driving.

Investigation has revealed that the driver of one of the vehicles was attempting to pass the other when the collision occurred, causing the passing vehicle to lose control and rollover, ejecting its passenger.

The driver of the other vehicle involved, a 50 years old female suffered only minor injuries.

The investigation continues with the assistance of a RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist.
