At about 3:20 am on June 4, Swan River RCMP responded to a structure fire at the bus garage, located on Shoal River I.R. (Sapotaweyak Cree Nation). A that time, a security guard noticed smoke and flames coming from the building.

When officers arrived on scene, the bus depot was fully engulfed in flames. The building has been totally destroyed, as well as two buses and other equipment that were inside. The cause of the fire has not been determined, however is not deemed to be suspicious at this time.

The Office of the Fire Commissioner and Swan River RCMP continue to investigate.
