In January we did a farm tour to see how some members animals were doing and ended the tour in Durban for a potluck supper, there was a Valley wide 4H ski trip to Thunderhill, this was well attended & fun for all.

March was speeches, everyone did great. McKenna Wlasichuk went on to provincials and Leah graham also participated in district.

In April the Tibbles Swan Hills Ranch, hosted grooming day, I was lucky enough to take my projects that day, we shaved them. Blew them off with the blower, even tethered my heifer (Sally) to a donkey… This teaches the heifer to lead better… Sure worked well.

May has been the busiest month, working every day with our Steers & Heifers to get them ready, last Saturday we all participated by in Highway clean up… 70 bags of garbage!

This week we have been busy getting the Valley Auction Mart ready for our 60th anniversary Show & Sale on Saturday, May 30, 2015. We hope everyone will come out & help is celebrate. The show starts at 10am with the 1st year showmanship class. Then the heifers will show & the judging competition. We will break for lunch & start the Steer show at 1 pm.

There are lots of great looking animals to watch & bid on at the live auction that will follow… Black Angus, Red Angus, Charolais, Hereford, & Simmental we have them all… So please come out & support your local 4H Beef Club!
