More than forty awards, scholarships, and trophies were awarded to particpants in this year’s fiddling and guitar, speech arts, keyboard and vocal, and band festivals. This year’s awards concert also celebrated 80 years of festivals in the Swan Valley.

Displays showing memorabilia from past years added an historic interest to the program. A cold juice fountain and cupcakes decorated with “80” added a special treat for those who attended.

The pictures show a capacity audience, a variety of the different performers and award winners.

One highlight was Francie Baird recalling a song that she had sung in the festival when she was in grade seven or eight. Francie was able to join in with the “Just for Joy” ensemble as they sang Francie’s song of yesteryear: Rolling Down to Rio!
