One day Elite Camp

Sat. May 2, 2015
10:30 am – 4:30 pm
Swan River SVRSS

This camp is will be split into 2 groups, one for grades 5-8 and a second more advanced group for grades 9-12.

The camp is open for both Girl’s and Boy’s, and the cost is $30 per person for the 6-hour camp.

“Our team loves the chance to work with young athletes in the Parkland area. We are aiming to make this an annual camp, and give the kids in this area an opportunity to develop their skills in the off-season as they prepare for summer teams and to spark an interest in the sport says head coach Gil Cheung.” “Our goal is to get as many young kids playing basketball as possible and also help aid in the development of the older kids to be able to play at the highest level”

The primary focus of the session for the younger age group is to introduce the fundamentals of the game and to teach proper footwork, shooting mechanics, ball handling, passing and spacing. They will have the opportunity to learn and develop these skills and apply them in mini and full game situations.

In the older age group grades 9-12 they will develop 1 on 1 moves off the dribble and off the catch, ability to read and react off of screens, use the pick and roll, learn how to create separation, develop effective counter moves and play competitive scrimmages and transition scenarios.

The event promises to be fun as well as develop basketball skills in both an individual and team setting.
