Swan Valley Regional Initiative for a Strong Economy (RISE) recently designed a new tourism booklet as part of its mandate to help develop the Swan Valley region as a visitor destination.

The eight page booklet was designed in consultation with Valley in the Mountains Tourism and the Swan Valley Chamber of Commerce. Its vibrant, full colour pages feature pictures of local retail stores, restaurants and leisure activities.

The booklet is intended to expand the inventory of material available to promote the Swan Valley and will be used alongside existing resources like the detailed Tourism Guide produced by Valley in the Mountains and the Rec & Leisure Guide produced by the Swan Valley District Recreation Commission. The new material highlights additional reasons to visit the Swan Valley and shows why it is a great place to live.

The booklets will be distributed to the Chamber of Commerce Tourism booth and Valley in the Mountains Tourism group in the coming weeks. Plans are also underway to use the brochure at the Thompson Trade Show and to display them at other nearby visitor destinations.

RISE received a $15,000 grant from the 2014-2015 provincial Partner 4 Growth program toward tourism marketing initiatives that included the tourism booklet as well as regional tourism signs and Swan Valley community signs.
