Ray Piche, the local Liberal candidate for the Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa riding and Dr. Carolyn Bennett, the Liberal Member of Parliament for St. Paul’s who is the Liberal critic for Health and Indigenous Affairs, engaged in a open discussion with the members of the public who attending the Town Hall meeting on January 12, 2015 at the banquet room in the Super 8.
Many issues were raised such as the lack of adequate beds in local communities for the elderly which causes people to be sent far from their families. Other issues such as the inquiry into Missing Indigenous Women, lack of respect for Parliament and the lack of support for issues affecting rural Canada were a few of the many topics covered over the the two and a half hours of lively discussion.
