RESOLVED THAT the Agenda be adopted as presented.

2. S. Windsor – J. Caruk
RESOLVED THAT the Bank Reconciliation and Financial Statement for the period ending August 31st, 2014 shall be approved as presented.

3. D. Bartel – J. Caruk
RESOLVED THAT the Animal Control Officer’s Report for the month of August, 2014 shall be accepted as presented, a copy of which is attached hereto, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT payment for contract services for Animal Control shall be made as per the aforementioned report.

RESOLVED THAT approval of payment be made for the List of Accounts numbered 6118 to 6159 inclusive, amounting to $66,025.96.

5. S. Windsor – D. Bartel
WHEREAS a financial report for the Minitonas Curling Club’s 2013-2014 year was received with the attached letter of request for funding assistance from both the Town of Minitonas and the RM of Minitonas, and;
WHEREAS the Minitonas Town Council has included funding support as part of the 2014 Financial Plan and agrees that it is important to support this valuable community recreation program;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT a grant in the amount of $500 shall be made to the Minitonas Curling Rink for 50% of the 2014-2015 cost to provide training and assistance for the new icemaker as per the attached request.

RESOLVED THAT the Town of Minitonas does hereby receive the attached Doctor Retention & Recruitment Fund Report form the Swan Valley Health Facilities Foundation Inc. and approve payment of the 2014 funding contribution in the amount of $3737.73 as included in the Municipality’s Annual Financial Plan.

RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Town of Minitonas does hereby approve the attached Request for Vacation.

8. D. Bartel – J. Caruk
RESOLVED THAT the Minitonas Town Council does hereby approve the attendance of the Public Works Foreman at the Workplace Safety Seminar to be held in Swan River on Thursday, September 25th and that all applicable expenses shall be paid in accordance with current municipal policies and by-laws.

9. S. Windsor – J. Caruk
WHEREAS breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women and is a very serious disease that will likely affect approximately 23,800 women and 200 men and their families this year, and;
WHEREAS it is of great importance that money be raised to fund breast cancer research projects and community programs, and;
WHEREAS the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation strives to be an effective advocate, a trusted leader, a respectful partner and a catalyst in creating a future free from breast cancer;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Minitonas Town Council does hereby proclaim the month of October to be ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Month’ in the Town of Minitonas.

WHEREAS the Minitonas Town Council has reviewed and approves of the terms and conditions of the 2014-2015 ‘Snow Clearing Services Agreement’ submitted by MTS Allstream Inc.;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the CAO shall be authorized to sign said agreement on behalf of the municipality.

RESOLVED THAT we do now adjourn at 9:05 pm to meet again for the next regular meeting of Council to be held on the 1st day of October, 2014 A.D. at 7:00 pm.
