RESOLVED THAT the Agenda be adopted as presented.

RESOLVED THAT the minutes of the Regular Meetings of the Council of the Town of Minitonas held on August 6th, 2014 and August 20th, 2014 shall be adopted as circulated.

3. J. Caruk – S. Windsor
WHEREAS the Agreement with Manitoba Hydro for the CDI Funding includes the submission of an annual report on the expenditure of the funds received;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer shall be authorized to sign the attached CDI Community Annual Report and the same shall be approved for submission to Manitoba Hydro.

4. D. Bartel – S. Windsor
WHEREAS the Council of the Town of Minitonas do hereby approve of the transfers of $10,800 from the Joint Fire Fighting Retainer – Capital Equipment Reserve Account to the General Operating Account for the Repairs and Maintenance required on the Pumper Truck, and;
WHEREAS the withdrawal of funds must also be approved by the Council of the Rural Municipality of Minitonas;
THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the aforementioned transfer of funds shall be proposed to the RM of Minitonas Council for approval at their September 10th Council Meeting, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT once both councils have provided approval of said transfer by resolution, the Mayor & CAO shall be authorized to sign the transfer form and the aforementioned transfer of funds shall be made from the joint Fire Fighting Retainer – Capital Equipment Reserve Account to the Town’s General Chequing Account in the amount of $10,800.00.

WHEREAS the Minitonas Sign on HWY #10 has been located and plans are in place to have it re-posted, and;
WHEREAS the Town Council wishes to promote tourism and the local businesses;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to purchase 10 new recreational symbol signs.

RESOLVED THAT the 2013-2014 Audited Financial Statement for the Swan Lake Watershed Conservation District shall be received by the Minitonas Town Council.

7. S. Windsor – D. Bartel
RESOLVED THAT the Minitonas Town Council does hereby approve payment of the mileage costs for 2 delegates to attend the Northern & North Parkland Age Friendly Connecting Communities Day in The Pas on September 11th, 2014;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT these costs will be shared on a 50-50 basis with the RM of Minitonas, their partners in the Age Friendly Initiative.

RESOLVED THAT the attached request for connection to the Town of Minitonas Utility System shall be approved by council.

WHEREAS World Suicide Prevention Day renews our commitment to empower all Canadians to build lives with dignity, purpose, and meaning, to support those who struggle with life and to remember and comfort those bereaved by suicide, and;
WHEREAS suicide impacts thousands of people across all walks of life, and;
WHEREAS we all have a responsibility to work together to build resilience and mental wellbeing, and to encourage people with emotional distress to seek help, and;
WHEREAS there is hope, since the smallest acts of kindness and compassion are often the most powerful and the ones that make the biggest difference, and;
WHEREAS one person can ‘Make a Difference’ in someone else’s life and ‘Be a Difference’;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Town of Minitonas, do hereby declare September 10th, 2014 as ‘National Suicide Prevention Day’ in the Town of Minitonas.

RESOLVED THAT the Public Works Report for the month of August, 2014 shall be accepted as submitted by the Town Foreman, a copy of which is attached hereto.

WHEREAS the Public Works Employee Overtime Reports have been received & reviewed by Council;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT all applicable overtime hours recorded for the month of August, 2014 shall be approved and either paid out with the September 15th, 2014 payroll or booked for future use as indicated on the aforementioned reports, copies of which have been attached hereto.

RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Town Of Minitonas does hereby approve the attendance of the PW Foreman at the Hydrant & Valve Maintenance Seminar in Neepawa on October 9th, 2014 and the Lagoon Operation & Maintenance Seminar in Portage la Prairie on November 18th, 2014, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT all applicable expenses shall be paid in accordance with current policies and indemnity by-laws for the municipality.

RESOLVED THAT By-Law No. 2/2014, being a By-law of the Town of Minitonas for the purpose of naming municipal roads and affixing such names at the corners thereof, shall be read a third time this 3rd day of September, 2014 A.D., signed by the Mayor, and signed and sealed by the Chief Administrative Officer.
