April 30 the Swan Valley Animal Protection League (SVAPL) held a luncheon fundraiser – just the first of many fundraisers being planned for this year.

“We got off to a late start fundraising this year but this is a good start.” said Marnie Waddell, Secretary of the SVAPL.

A display set up at the luncheon by Maggie Romak showed pictures of only a few of the wonderful and deserving animals that are available for adoption right now and hopefully some will find homes as a result of this luncheon.

“Thank you so much to our sponsors – The Swan Valley Credit Union, The Swan Valley Consumers Co-op, The Mushroom Patch and all the wonderful people who donated their food and time to this cause without your continued support and dedication we would not be able to continue our efforts to help animals in the Swan Valley.” said Michelle Walker, Chairwoman of the SVAPL’s fundraising committee.

As soon as the weather remains nice for more than a couple days the SVAPL will be out selling 50/50 tickets and are also planning an Adoption Fair. Until then, anyone interested in adopting a pet from the SVAPL should call Maggie Romak or Audrey Sercombe at 204-734-9824.
