RESOLVED THAT the Agenda be adopted as presented.
Carried.

2. S. Windsor – D. Bartel
RESOLVED THAT the minutes of the Regular Meetings of the Council of the Town of Minitonas held on January 15th, 2014 and January 22nd, 2014 shall be adopted as circulated.
Carried.

3. D. Bartel – J. Caruk
WHEREAS the Minitonas Town Council feels that the economic development, along with the promotion and support of local businesses, is crucial for the future of our community and the Swan River Valley, and;
WHEREAS promoting the Swan River Valley as a retirement destination for those wishing to re-locate from northern communities;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to renew our membership in the Swan Valley Chamber of Commerce for 2014, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT a contribution of $250 will be made toward the costs of attending the Thompson Trade Show along with the $95.00 annual membership fee.

RESOLVED THAT the Public Works Report for the month of January, 2014 shall be accepted as submitted by the Town Foreman, a copy of which is attached hereto.

5. D. Bartel – J. Caruk
WHEREAS the Public Works Employee Overtime Reports have been received & reviewed by Council;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT all applicable overtime hours recorded for the month of January, 2014 shall be approved and paid out with the February 14th, 2014 payroll or booked for future use as indicated on the aforementioned reports, copies of which have been attached hereto.

6. J. Caruk – S. Windsor
RESOLVED THAT the members of the Minitonas Town Council do hereby go ‘In Camera’ in accordance with Subsection 152(3)(b)(ii) of The Municipal Act pertaining to staff performance.
Carried.

7. S. Windsor – J. Caruk
RESOLVED THAT the meeting of the Minitonas Town Council shall hereby re- open to the public in accordance with Subsection 152(4) of The Municipal Act.

8. J. Caruk – S. Windsor
WHEREAS the Town of Minitonas & the RM of Minitonas have met to discuss the repairs required on the CAT Loader, and agreed to make the necessary repairs;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Lonnie Armistead Services shall be hired to assist with said repairs under the terms and conditions attached hereto.

9. S. Windsor – D. Bartel
RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to the purchase of a new hydrant as per the quote attached hereto.

10. S. Windsor – J. Caruk
RESOLVED THAT Kevin Giesbrecht shall be appointed as Citizen Rep for the Town of Minitonas on the Swan Lake Watershed Conservation District – Watershed #52 for the 2014 and 2015 Fiscal Years.

11. D. Bartel – J. Caruk
WHEREAS the 2014 Budget for the Swan Valley Recreation District has been received and reviewed by the Minitonas Town Council;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to the proposal levy of $4750.20 as per the membership contribution chart attached hereto.

12. S. Windsor – J. Caruk
WHEREAS the 2014 Budget for the Swan Valley Airport Commission has been received and reviewed by the Minitonas Town Council;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to the proposed levy of 0.154 mills based on the municipality’s 2013 Assessment ($1194.00) as per the contribution chart attached hereto.

13. S. Windsor – D. Bartel
WHEREAS new information has come to council regarding the operation of the business currently leasing the 2nd floor area of the Minitonas Library;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council agrees to cancel the increase in the monthly rental rate and shall continue with the current rate until June 30th, 2014, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT review of the agreement and circumstances will be done in June, 2014 and the possible renewal, including the terms and conditions, from July-December, 2014 will be set at that time.

RESOLVED THAT the Minitonas Marketplace shall be offered free of charge for the 2 day Babysitting Course offered by the Swan Valley Recreation District in April, 2014.
Carried.

RESOLVED THAT we do now adjourn at 11:25 pm to meet again for the next regular meeting of Council to be held on the 19th day of February, 2014 A.D. at 7:00 pm.
