On the 9th of February, 2014 at about 5 pm, the Swan River RCMP, EMS from Mafeking. and EMS from Swan River were dispatched via `911` to a single Motor Vehicle Collision at the bridge in Mafeking, MB. (approximately 70 km north of Swan River, MB, on Highway # 10)

A 2011 Ford Escape had gone through the community at excessive speed, lost control, went air borne and landed in a creek.

Of the three (3) occupants, two received non-life threatening injury (the driver and one of the passengers), and were transported to hospital. A 32 year old female from the Rural Municipality of Swan River has been charged with Drive Carelessly under the Highway Traffic Act.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. Speed is a contributing factor.
