Charges Laid in Minitonas Community Store Vandalism

Just before 3 am, on December 3, 2013 Swan River RCMP received a dispatch that the Minitonas Community Store (also know as Minitonas Home Hardware), that it had all of it’s exterior windows vandalized.

Police attended the scene, noted the extensive damage incurred. Further investigation led to the identity and arrest of the suspect.

Charged with: Mischief Over $5000 (business), Utter Forged Document (business), Theft Under $5000 (business), and Break & Enter with Intent (residence) is 19 year old Garrett Dominique Chartrand, of Minitonas, MB.

Chartrand was remanded to Swan River Provincial Court for today, December 4, 2013 where he was released on his own Recognizance with a number of conditions.

Conditions (abbreviated):
– must live in Swan River, MB
– must not communicate with the complainant
– must not attend the town of Minitonas, MB
– must not attend the Liquor Commission Store in Swan River, MB
– must not possess or drink any alcohol, and must not possess or use any illegal drug
