Swan River RCMP Arrest Minitonas Man

On September 9, 2013 just before 5:00 pm, a 59 year old male of the town of Swan River, MB reported to Swan River RCMP an earlier theft with violence, where the victim was physically assaulted and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.


The assailant was known to the victim. The victim did not require medical treatment. Patrols were made to no avail. Matter went to warrant. Investigation continued.

On October 4, 2013 just before 2 am, Swan River RCMP received a dispatch via 911 of a Break & Enter in progress at the Minitonas Community Store in Minitonas, MB. The thief was seen as he was fleeing from the area. Mischief (property damage) and theft had occurred. Property item was taken & abandoned. Patrols made. Suspect was gone. Matter went to warrant. Investigation continued.

On November 25, 2013 at about 6:00 pm, a Swan River RCMP member, while on routine patrol along Main Street, saw the accused as he was exiting a vehicle. The accused headed towards 6th Avenue South in Swan River, MB. Police exited the patrol vehicle searching for the accused. A foot chase ensued. The accused was arrested and brought into custody.

William Dominic GENAILLE (44 year old male) of the town of Minitonas, MB has been charged with: Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats, Breaking and entering with intent – Business, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x 2).

Hearing will occur today. This matter will be Remanded to Provincial Court.
