Winnipegosis RCMP Investigate Attempted Murder

On November 10, 2013, Winnipegosis RCMP responded to a complaint of a shooting in the community of Duck Bay, Manitoba. A 43-year-old male from Duck Bay had been shot multiple times while he stood outside his residence.


The victim was transported to Dauphin Regional Health Centre, where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Wilson Parenteau Jr., a 24-year-old resident from Duck Bay, was located and arrested a few hours later. He has been charged with Attempted Murder as well as a number of firearm-related offences. He was remanded in custody on November 11, and will appear in Dauphin Provincial Court November 12.

Winnipegosis RCMP were assisted by the Dauphin RCMP Major Crimes Unit, the Brandon RCMP Forensic Identification Unit, and the Winnipeg RCMP Serious Crime Unit. RCMP officers from Dauphin and Swan River Detachments also assisted.

Police continue to investigate. No further information is available at this time.
