The community was judged on Urban Forest, Floral Displays and Landscape, Environmental Awareness and Action, Heritage, and Tidiness.

Throughout the tour,which began at
8:30am, citizens from the community meet us at each area,— landfill site, recycling depot, Arboretum, golf course, Watershed, Cemetery, Harley House, Legion Park, Royal Purple Flowerbed, Friends of Grandmothers of Africa flowerbed, Rotary Walkway, Museum, Skateboard park, schools, churches, main street, hanging baskets and the historic murals.

Judges were very complimentary of the community, commenting of the large number of green spaces (18) in the town.

Many volunteers worked tirelessly to beautify the town with flowers and weed cleanup. Bouquets to all citizens and businesses for keeping the town in such good shape. We should all be very proud of our community.

In the near future the evaluation and scoring will be sent to the volunteer committee. This will include suggestions as well. This information will be shared with the community.

Communities in Bloom is a federal program to promote tourism in communities. Our town will be featured in the Co. in Bloom magazine and on the website.
