From the moment we began advertising the event, calls and e-mails started coming in with the same question “How can we help?”

When the organizing committee began discussing how we might fundraise to assist the Chen family with their insurance shortfall on their personal content they lost when both their business and home where destroyed by fire on Feb 13, 2013, we had no idea that our community of communities (the Swan Valley) would step forward in the fashion they did.

Over 75 individuals and businesses contributed in some fashion toward the success of this event.

We utilized what was being offered in order to throw a social with great prizes, wonderful food and plenty of volunteers.




Judy and Clarence Burrows donated a wonderful midnight luncheon of beef on a bun, potato and macaroni salads, cheese, pickles and an assortment of deserts.

Those in attendance had a great time socializing and dancing the night away!

The committee thanks the 247 people who purchased tickets to the event, many who knew they would not be able to attend but wanted to show their support; the many people and businesses that came forward with donation of product; the people who donated cash to assist the Chen’s, many of who wish to remain anonymous; and all those who volunteered their time to ensure a successful event.
