RESOLVED THAT the Agenda be adopted as presented.

RESOLVED THAT the Minutes of the Regular Meetings of Council held on January 16th, 2013 & January 23rd, 2013 shall be adopted as circulated.

3. J. Caruk – W. Robb
WHEREAS the Minitonas Town Council intends to continue to support the Swan Valley Chamber of Commerce and their efforts to support the Swan River Valley;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to renew membership for 2013 in the amount of $95 and shall make a contribution of $250 toward the Thompson Trade Show.

RESOLVED THAT the Public Works Report for the month of January, 2013 shall be accepted as submitted by the Town Foreman, a copy of which is attached hereto.

5. W. Robb – J. Caruk
WHEREAS the Public Works Employee Overtime Reports have been received & reviewed by Council;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT all applicable overtime hours recorded for the month of January, 2013 shall be approved and paid out with the February 15th, 2013 payroll or booked for future use as indicated on the aforementioned reports, copies of which have been attached hereto.

RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Town of Minitonas do hereby authorize the CAO to submit a request for Grant-in-Aid funding form Manitoba Infrastructure & Transportation for the following improvements to 2nd Avenue East in order of priority as follows;
1. Bridge Renewal for approximately $18,400
2. Excavation of 400m x 8m for approximately $88,400
3. Paving of the above area of excavation for approximately $92,700
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the request shall also include dust control on approximately 700m of 2nd Avenue.

RESOLVED THAT Gary Thiessen shall be approved to attend the attached safety courses in Swan River and all applicable expenses shall be paid in accordance with current municipal policies and by-laws.

8. D. Bartel – W. Robb
WHEREAS the attached letter of intent to retire has been received by the Chief Administrative Officer for the municipality;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Minitonas Town Council does hereby acknowledge said notice of retirement effective April 30th, 2013.

9. W. Robb – D. Bartel
RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to contribute $125.33 for the cost for the Emergency Coordinator to obtain his Ham Radio Ticket and $40.00 for the annual membership fee.

10. W. Robb – D. Bartel
WHEREAS the Council of the Town of Minitonas has had a significant discussion regarding the direction from the Province of Manitoba to move toward amalgamation with a neighboring municipality in order to reach a combined population of 1000 or more;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to submit the attached letter to Premier Selinger with the opinion of council regarding this directive;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT a copy of the aforementioned letter shall be sent to Minister Lemieux, Minister Kostyshyn, AMM President Dobrowolski, the Leader of the Opposition, and all Manitoba Municipalities.

RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Town of Minitonas does hereby approve the attached proclamation regarding Lymphedema Awareness.
Carried.
12. D. Bartel – J. Caruk
WHEREAS the Council of the Town of Minitonas desires to acknowledge the 100th Anniversary of 4-H in Manitoba, and the many years of 4-H activity in the community;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to proclaim 2013 as the ‘Year of 4-H in Minitonas’.

RESOLVED THAT we do now adjourn at 10:30 pm to meet again for the next regular meeting of Council to be held on the 20th day of February, 2013 A.D. at 7:00 pm.
