RCMP Checkstop Update |

The Holiday Checkstop program continued in the Swan Valley this weekend.

RCMP reported the following statistics for the past weekend:


Checkstops – 2
Number of vehicles checked – 76
Impaired over .08 – 1
Reading (BAC) – 150 mg %
Number of other HTA charges – 1

This high-visibility campaign focuses on the detection of high-risk drivers, which includes drivers who are impaired, not wearing seatbelts, speeding, or using hand-held devices.

All detachments and traffic units in “D” Division will be taking part in the campaign through extra Checkstops and patrols around the province.
