Community Bible Fellowship Christian School is excited to announce that it has completed phase 1 of the playground upgrade. This phase included installing a new “treehouse” play structure as well as 2 park benches.

This structure was purchased through Blue Imp with local representative Debbie Rusk.

The old structures were removed this spring, the site was prepared and installation took place Aug.20th and 21st with the help of over 20 hard working volunteers and the installation supervisor Nelson Rusk.

This phase cost about $40 000, which was raised through fundraising, grants and donations.

Some features of the new structure include a spider web climb (ropes climber), a leaf climb, treehouse ladder, pole stepper, single slide, double slide, rock wall climber as well as stairs. It has 3 little benches below the structure for preschoolers to play on. This play structure is geared toward kids age 5-12, although there are features for toddlers as well.

This structure has a wood-grain paneling instead of steel rails, to help give it a “treehouse” look. These panels are not actually wood, but a plastic composite that should last longer than wood.
The school has chosen a wood chip or wood bark base which is softer than pea gravel and helps add to the natural look. The structure also has an anti-slip coating that was factory applied to reduce slipping.

The school is pleased to invite the community to come and use the new playground. We are a community school and we have built this playground to be utilized by the community in addition to use by the CBF school and church.

Please note that the playground is unsupervised after school hours and supervision is required.

Although we are very excited about our new structure, the playground committee still has work to do as we continue to raise funds for Phase 2 of the playground upgrade. This phase includes purchasing “Duo Biggo Swings,” as well as several picnic tables a trash receptacle and a toddler swing seat. The Duo Biggo Swings are 2 swings that have a large round base that allows at least 4 children to swing together at once. This swing is also suitable for seniors, young mothers with infants and is wheelchair accessible. We are very excited about this new addition. Our goal is to have Phase 2 completed before school starts next fall. If you would like to donate to this project please contact CBFCS.

Community Bible Fellowship Christian School would like to say thank you to everyone that helped with Phase 1 of our playground upgrade. Without your contributions of time, supplies and money it would not have been possible. Special thanks to:

The playground committee, Swan Valley Credit Union, Swan River Rotary, Swan Valley Community Foundation, Swan Valley Youth in Philanthropy, Spruce Products, Manitoba Community Service Council, Hometown Manitoba, Parkland Regional Development Corporation and families from the CBF church, CBF Christian school, Parent Advisory Council and individual donors.

Please come and enjoy our new playground. It truly is a community project.
