On the early morning of August 11, 2012, Swan River RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the town of Swan River.

RCMP learned that a 36-year-old local man was seriously assaulted.

On August 14th, RCMP charged Marvin David FLETT, 47, of Swan River with Aggravated Assault, Assault with a weapon, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace, Obstruct Justice.

Marvin FLETT has been released on a recognizance to appear in Swan River Provincial court on October 17, 2012.

A 17-year-old local male youth was also charged in this incident with Assault and Breach of a Recognizance. He has been released on a Undertaking to appear also in Swan River Court on October 17, 2012.

The victim received medical treatment and has since been released from hospital.

The investigation continues.
