On August 13, 2012 at about 11 pm Swan River RCMP received a call relating to a firearms in Birch River, MB

Police attendance and resultant investigation revealed that a firearm was not discharged, nor any injuries incurred.

A 39 year old male, resident of Birch River was arrested for pointing a firearm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, lodged overnight, and released on conditions to appear in Swan River Provincial court on September 19, 2012.

Charges are pending.

Police continue to investigate.
