Regular Meeting of the members of Council of the Town of Minitonas, held in the Council Chambers, Minitonas, Manitoba this 4th day of April, 2012 A.D. at 7:00 p.m.

RESOLVED THAT the Agenda be adopted as presented.
Carried.

2.
W. Robb – J. Caruk
RESOLVED THAT the Minutes of the Regular Meetings of Council held on March 7th, 2012 and March 28th, 2012 shall be adopted as circulated.
Carried.

3.
S. Windsor – D. Bartel
RESOLVED THAT, in accordance with Subsection 162(2) of The Municipal Act, a ‘Public Hearing’ shall be held on May 2nd, 2012 at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers of the Minitonas Municipal Office for the purpose of presenting the 2012 Financial Plan for the Town of Minitonas to the general public;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, in accordance with Section 420 of The Municipal Act, the attached ‘Public Notice’ shall be placed on display in the community and in the local municipal office, and ads shall be placed in the local newspaper on April 17th, 2012 and April 24th, 2012.

RESOLVED THAT the Minitonas Town Council does hereby approve the Swan Valley Municipal Airport Commission’s Budget for 2012 and their annual municipal contribution as attached.
Carried.

5.
D. Bartel – S. Windsor
RESOLVED THAT the Public Works Report for the month of March, 2012 shall be accepted as submitted by the Town Foreman, a copy of which is attached hereto.
Carried.

6.
W. Robb – S. Windsor
WHEREAS the Public Works Employee Overtime Reports have been received & reviewed by Council;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT all applicable overtime hours recorded for the month of March, 2012 shall be paid out with the April 15th, 2012 payroll or booked for future use as indicated on the aforementioned reports, copies of which have been attached hereto.

7.
J. Caruk – D. Bartel
WHEREAS the Town of Minitonas desires to add 7th Avenue to the list of Grant-in-Aid Streets to apply for a grant to make improvements under a cost sharing agreement with the Province of Manitoba.
AND WHEREAS these improvements will benefit both the Swan Valley School Division and the Town of Minitonas;
AND WHEREAS 7th Avenue is only 48 feet wide and not the required 66 feet for a standard road allowance;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Minitonas Town Council shall submit a letter of request to the Swan Valley School Division regarding the most Southerly 18 feet of their land along 7th Avenue, making it available for the required improvements.

RESOLVED THAT the Minitonas Town Council approves the attached request for rental of the Town Hall.

9.
D. Bartel – W. Robb
RESOLVED THAT the Town of Minitonas does hereby declare the date of Saturday May 5th, 2012 as ‘Minitonas Community Garage Sale Day’;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT all interested residents, organizations and business owners shall be encouraged to hold a garage sale on that date.

RESOLVED THAT the Town of Minitonas does hereby declare every Friday as ‘Summer Games Wear Day’ in the Town of Minitonas.
Carried.

11.
D. Bartel – W. Robb
RESOLVED THAT a Special Meeting shall be held on April 11th, 2012 at 6:00 pm to review the 2012 Financial Plan for the Town of Minitonas.
Carried.

W. Robb – S. Windsor
RESOLVED THAT we do now adjourn at 10:35 pm to meet again for the next regular meeting of Council to be held on the 18th day of April, 2012 at 7:00 pm.
