A Regular Meeting of Council of the Village of Benito was called to order at 7:00 pm on Thursday March 29, 2012 in the Village Council Chambers.

Deputy Mayor Scouten called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

RESOLVED that the minutes of the regular meeting of Council held on March 13, 2012 be adopted as presented.

RESOLVED that Bylaw #01/12, being a Bylaw of the Village of Benito to amend its Bylaw # 01/11 which provides for the expenditure and borrowing of funds for the roof replacement project at the Benito & District Recreation Complex be read a second time.

WHERAS the Community Bible Fellowship Christian School Playground Committee is in the process of fundraising to upgrade the existing playground; and
WHEREAS the Village of Benito feels that the upgrade would be of value to the Valley as a whole in providing a safe, family-friendly playground that would be accessible to the community;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Village of Benito write a letter of support to the Christian Bible Fellowship for this initative that will be of benefit to the families in our community and the Swan River Valley.

RESOLVED that the Council of the Village of Benito accept the budget request from the Swan Valley Health Facilities Foundation for Physician Recruitment and Retention as follows:
Physician Recruitment/Retention (.25 mills) $1457.49.

RESOLVED that the Village of Benito approve a ½ page advertisement in the Valley in the Mountain 2012 Tourism publication for $225.00.

RESOLVED that Village of Benito Mayor Meadows, hereby declares that effective March 30, 2012 through July 20, 2012 that every Friday be proclaimed “Manitoba Games Wear Day” and provide games t-shirts to be worn by Village Council and staff in support and promotion of the 2012 Power Smart Manitoba Summer Games being hosted by the communities of the Village of Benito, the R.M. of Swan River, the Town of Swan River, the R.M. of Minitonas and the Town of Minitonas.
