Manitoba Games Wear Day Declared in Swan River

The 2012 Swan Valley Host Society held a Kickoff Event at the Swan Valley Consumers Co-op on Friday, March 23, 2012 to announce the Power Smart Manitoba Summer Games “Games Wear Day of the Week”.

Town of Swan Mayor Glen McKenzie, declared that effective March 23, 2012 through July 20, 2012 that every Friday be proclaimed “Manitoba Games Wear Day of the Week”. Other guests who spoke in support of the Summer Games included Minister of Agriculture Ron Kostyshyn, Swan Valley Consumers Co-op General Manager Don Declercq and Rosann Wowchuk on behalf of the volunteers of the Swan Valley Host Society.

The Swan Valley Host Society is challenging all businesses in the Valley to support Games Wear Day of the Week by purchasing Games Wear uniforms for their staff and having their staff dress in Games Wear each Friday. Games wear may be purchased at the SVRSS Tiger’s Den, Merv’s Audiotronics, Swan Valley Consumers Co-op or at the Games Office. All proceeds from the sale of Games Wear goes to support the Summer Games.

The communities of Swan River, Minitonas, Benito, the RM of Swan River and the RM of Minitonas are proud to be hosting the 2012 Power Smart Manitoba Summer Games July 15 – 21, 2012 at various facilities in the Swan Valley. Over 1700 of Manitoba’s top developmental athletes will compete in this weeklong event.

The Swan Valley Host Society, up to 1200 volunteers and Sport Manitoba are working together to make the 2012 Power Smart Manitoba Summer Games a success and would like extend an open invitation to be a part of the excitement that surrounds our province’s largest ongoing multi-sport event.
