RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Town of Minitonas has reviewed the attached recommendation from the RM & Town of Minitonas Fire Protection Committee and agree to the Operating and Capital Purchases as part of the 2012 ‘Fire Department Budget’.

WHEREAS the RM & Town of Minitonas Handi-Van Committee have submitted a recommendation to the municipality for consideration of the purchase of an AED Unit for the Handi-Van, and;
WHEREAS the Minitonas Town Council agrees that it would be a valuable piece of equipment to have available on the handi-van, providing fast access to passengers in case of emergency;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Town of Minitonas agrees to fund 50% of the total cost of purchasing a defibrillator for the Minitonas Handi-Van, and that the equipment be dedicated in honor of the founding members of the RM & Town of Minitonas Handi-Van Committee.

RESOLVED THAT we do hereby approve the list of firefighters for the RM & Town of Minitonas Fire Department as per the recommendation of Fire Chief, Ian McKay, attached hereto as Schedule ‘A’.

RESOLVED THAT the Building Permits for January to December, 2012 shall be received as attached hereto.

WHEREAS the Public Works Employee Overtime Reports have been received & reviewed by Council;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT all applicable overtime hours recorded for the month of November, 2011 shall be paid out with the December 15, 2011 payroll or booked for future use as indicated on the aforementioned reports, copies of which have been attached hereto.

RESOLVED THAT the Public Works Report for the month of November, 2011 shall be accepted as submitted by the Town Foreman, a copy of which is attached hereto.

WHEREAS the Town of Minitonas has adopted a new Workplace Health & Safety Plan and representative from the Council, Administration and Public Works Staff are required for proper implementation of the plan into the daily operations of the municipality;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Steve Windsor shall be appointed as the Council Safety Representative, Carolyn Gordon shall be appointed as the Administrative Safety Representative, and Mervin Leslie shall be appointed as the Workers Safety Representative for the Town of Minitonas.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the CAO shall be authorized to hire the Services of the local consultant for Safety Services Manitoba to assist in completing and implementing the municipality’s plan.

WHEREAS the Town of Minitonas and the RM of Minitonas operate a joint municipal office and share in the administrative services, and;
WHEREAS the Minitonas Town Council believe it would be feasible to add the administrative services for the Swan Valley District Recreation Commission as part of their pending administrative changes for 2012;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby recommend that the RM of Minitonas submit the attached proposal for a 5 year tender to the Swan Valley District Recreation Commission for consideration.

WHEREAS the Council of the Town of Minitonas feel it is very important to support the local recreational facilities, and;
WHEREAS the municipality has not charged a rental fee for the past few years in order to assist with the operating costs of the local curling rink;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to permanently waive the annual rental costs paid by the Minitonas Curling Club for the property on which the facility is located.

RESOLVED THAT By-Law No. 7/2011, being a By-Law of the Town of Minitonas to regulate the proceedings and conduct of Council, shall be read a third time this 7th day of December, 2011 A.D., signed by the Mayor, and signed and sealed by the Chief Administrative Officer.

WHEREAS the Minitonas Town Council have reviewed and approve the terms and conditions of the attached agreement with the RM of Minitonas for removal of snow on the streets in the municipality;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to authorize the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer to sign said agreement on behalf of the municipality.
