RCMP Swan River – Marihuana Seizure

RCMP Media Release | On November 19, 2011 at about 1:00 p.m. Swan River RCMP, along with the West District Special Operations Team executed a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrant at a residence on Indian Birch River Reserve, located about 60 km north of Swan River, Manitoba.

Investigators discovered approximately one and a half pounds of marihuana, various drug paraphernalia, firearms, and a quantity of cash.

The estimated street value of the seizure is approximately $10,000.00

Three adults were arrested at the residence. 47 year old Daniel Clarence John Audy has been charged with Trafficking of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Firearms related offences, as well as Breaching conditions of a Recognizance. 19 year old Derek Cody Sutherland was charged with Trafficking of a Controlled Substance. The third adult was released with no charges.

Audy has been remanded into custody and will appear in Dauphin Provincial Court on November 22nd, 2011. Sutherland has been released from custody (with conditions), and is scheduled to appear in Swan River Provincial Court on December 7th, 2011.

No further information is available at this time. Police continue to investigate.
