Swan Valley Historical Museum Turkey Shoot

The Swan Valley Historical Museum held their annual turkey shoot on Saturday, November 12, 2011. The turkey shoot is held each year on the first Saturday after Remembrance Day to raise money in support of the operations of the Museum.

The event started at 11:00 am, beginning with the target shoot. 10 targets are set up, 10 people take their best shot, closest shot wins.

This year saw more young people in attendance than in previous years.














Later in the afternoon the pieplates collected from around town became the target. Each pieplate contained the names of those who supported the event with the hope of taking home a turkey.

In total 100 turkey’s were given out this year.


During the event soup, sandwiches, pie and coffee were served.

Bingo was one of the other activities featured throughout the day.
