PRHA Media Release | The PRHA is preparing once again to offer Pap test clinics at some locations in the Region. Clinics will be held this year in Swan River, Sapotaweyak and Dauphin.
The PRHA is pleased to partner with CervixCheck – a CancerCare Manitoba Screening Program.
A key goal of the initiative is to reduce the incidence and mortality of cervical cancer by encouraging women to have regular Pap Tests. By offering both walk-in and scheduled appointments, this easy access alternative has successfully reached many women who may be at a higher risk of developing cervical cancer.
Each year in Manitoba, about 45 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer. Regular Pap tests with appropriate follow-up can prevent up to 80% of cervical cancer.
