Food Drive for the Swan Valley Food Bank This Week

Submitted by: Pastor Rob Ter Horst |
Various youth groups throughout the valley want to let residents of Swan River know about the food drive they are planning to help collect dry goods/canned items in partnership with the Swan Valley Food Bank.

The food collection is taking place Wednesday, September 21st between 7:30-9 p.m. (rain or shine!).

Youth will pick up any food items residents are willing to donate and deliver them directly to the Food Bank. If donors are wondering what specific food items are needed, the most appreciated donations at this point are canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned pork and beans, canned tuna/salmon/ham, pasta, and a limited amount of fresh garden vegetables.

If individuals or families wish to donate items in person, Bruce & Ursula Taylor will be at the Food Bank between 8-9 p.m. and are willing to give a tour of the facility for anyone that would like a better understanding of how the Food Bank operates (located at 224-3rd Ave North).

We collected 447 pounds of food from the last food drive in April and it would be fantastic to exceed that amount this Wednesday. The Food Bank helps approximately 115 families a month, so your participation would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions about this food drive please contact Pastor Rob Ter Horst at 734-4200.
