Schools Participate in Terry Fox Run

ValleyBiz Story | Minitonas Early Years School held a school wide Terry Fox Walk on Friday. According to Principal Miles Jones, “The goal of the event is to raise awaremess of Cancer and to let young children realize that they can help make a difference.”

Students watched a video about Terry Fox, then assembled outside along with staff and parents to participate in the walk/run on a course that took them throughout the community.

Children were encouraged to bring a donation, either a Coin for Cancer, Toonie for Terry or a Bill to Blow Cancer Away. Many other schools across the Valley have either held a Terry Fox Walk or have one scheduled to take place.

Valley Residents can take part in the Swan River Terry Fox Run on Sunday, September the 18th at 1:30pm. Registration takes place from 12 noon to 1:15pm at the Centennial Arena.
