Cowan Trail Ride Heads Out Under Sunny Skies

ValleyBiz Story | The Cowan Trail Celebration, which started 13 years ago and has become an annual tradition, took place Saturday, August 27. Approximately 70 riders saddled up their horses or hitched up their teams, then hit the trail for the 6 hour ride.

The day started with registration and a hearty breakfast which included pancakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and fresh fruit.

At 10:30 am, the horses and wagons started across the Cowan Bridge …
… and continued behind the church, down the old rail line and onto the trail.

The activity continued at the Cowan Hall after the trail ride began. Formo Motors was on site from
8 am to 1 pm sponsoring “Drive One 4UR Community” with Ford donating $20 for every test drive. Close to 100 people took a drive to earn money for the Cowan Hall.

Riders Registered for the ATV Poker Derby which began at 1:00 pm
      

The ride was followed up with a delicious Pit BBQ Beef Supper and concluded with a dance.
