A Regular Meeting of Council of the Village of Benito was called to order at 7:00 pm on Tuesday August 9, 2011 in the Village Council Chambers.

Mayor Meadows called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

RESOLVED that the minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held on July 12, 2011 be adopted as presented.
Carried.

RESOLVED that the agenda for the meeting held on August 9, 2011 be adopted as amended.
Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED that the August Maintenance report be accepted as presented by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED that the August Workplace Safety report be accepted as presented by the Workers Safety Representative.
Carried.

RESOLVED that By-Law #01/11, being a By-Law of the Village of Benito to provide for the expenditure and borrowing of funds for the roof replacement project at the Benito & District Recreation Complex be read a first time.
Carried.

Deputy Mayor Scouten disclosed a personal interest in the matter before Council and requested permission to withdraw from the meeting.

RESOLVED that the purchase of tires be authorized as attached hereto as Schedule “A”.
Carried.

Deputy Mayor Scouten returned to the meeting.

RESOLVED that accounts numbered 23414 to 23474 in the amount totaling $43,732.49 be ratified as paid.
Carried.

RESOLVED that the sum of $31,635.00 be hereby authorized for transfer from the Utility Reserve Fund to the General Operating Fund.
Carried.

WHEREAS the Village of Benito has received donations from individuals businesses and corporations for the roof replacement project of the Benito and District Recreation Complex; and
WHEREAS the contractor has commenced working on the project and payment will be expected in the near future;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that sum of $22, 875.00 of donations currently deposited in the Village of Benito Recreation Trust Fund be hereby authorized for transfer to the Village of Benito General Operating Fund and payment be issued to the Benito and District Recreation Complex for use toward payment of the roof replacement project expenses.

RESOLVED that the August Animal Control Report be accepted as presented by the Animal Control Officer.
Carried.

RESOLVED that the Village of Benito do hereby authorize an insertion of a Village of Benito advertisement in the 2011/2012 Swan Valley Rec & Leisure Guide.
Carried.

WHEREAS the 2011 Tax-Sale will be held on October 18, 2011 and a public auction will be held for all properties not redeemed;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Village of Benito set a reserve bid on each property in the amount of the tax arrears plus costs.

RESOLVED that the Village of Benito authorize payment of the 2011 Membership Fees to the Swan Valley Mutual Aid District in the amount of $150.00.

RESOLVED that the revised staff vacation and Leave of Absence (without pay) schedule affixed hereto as Schedule “A” be hereby approved.
Carried.
