Hit and Run

RCMP Media Release | Just before 8:00 p.m. Sunday, officers from the Dauphin Municipal RCMP detachment received a report of a 2 vehicle collision that occurred on 2nd Avenue N.E. in Dauphin. The suspect vehicle fled the scene without exchanging particulars with the driver of the vehicle that was hit. Witnesses to the collision provided police with the direction of travel of the suspect vehicle and officers were able to stop it on 4th Avenue S.W. The driver was found to be heavily intoxicated and was arrested. Investigators learned that following the collision, the vehicle had gone through a number of intersections without stopping for red lights or stop signs before being stopped. There were 2 unrestrained children, ages 1 and 3 years, in the vehicle at the time.

Thirty-five year old Ivy Lana LEASK of Swan River has been charged with a number of Criminal offences including Impaired Driving, Driving while Disqualified and Failing to Provide a Breath Sample and is to appear in Dauphin Provincial Court later today.
There were no injuries.
