RESOLVED that the Rural Municipality of Swan River contribute $250.00 (+GST) to the Swan Valley Chamber of Commerce for the printing of the Swan River Map and Area Highlights.

WHEREAS the Rural Municipality of Swan River Council has received correspondence from the Chair of the Wellman/Glad Lake Campers and Cottage Owners Association, Duane Whyte, requesting support for the Paving of the Road to Wellman Lake;
AND WHEREAS the Rural Municipality of Swan River Council is in agreement that the paving of said road would be beneficial to local tourism, economic development and local residents;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Rural Municipality of Swan River Council authorize the Chief Administrative Officer to draft a letter of support and forward it to the Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation and Deputy Premier, Rosann Wowchuk

WHEREAS the Province of Manitoba has announced that the Subsidy paid per beaver under the Problem Beaver Program for the summer of 2011 will be increased from $20.00 to $50.00;
AND WHEREAS the Rural Municipality of Swan River Council anticipates an increase in the number of beaver causing problems with it’s roads and infrastructure due the abnormally high water levels;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the following amendments be made to the 2011 General Policies in regard to Problem Beaver:
a) That item (d) of Resolution No. 8 passed by Council dated March 8, 2011, allowing for “an additional $20.00 to be paid to the trapper removing beaver under the Manitoba Conservation Problem Beaver Program”, be rescinded.
b) That an amount of $20.00 be paid per beaver for the removal of extra Problem Beaver, in sites as determined and approved by council, after the tags allotted by Manitoba Conservation have been expended.
