Submitted by: Minitonas Early Years School | The School was buzzing with excitement as students, staff, and parents celebrated Education Week, April 11th—15th.
On Monday morning, the students enjoyed Trustee, Lynne Wenzel reading to each of the classrooms. The students and staff enjoyed the stories.
On Tuesday morning, Mrs. Shirley Todosichuk brought her collection of Japanese items to school. The display was set up in the Library and all the students were able to look at the different items. It was very interesting!
On Wednesday morning, a presentation by Alissa Jackson from the RCMP was held for all the students. She talked about “Making Wise Choices” for the grades 1 to 4 and “Your Things, My Things” for the Kindergarten students. Everyone enjoyed the presentation.
Thursday afternoon, the Minitonas Early Years School held a Talent Show with students performing by either playing the fiddle or piano. The Gr. 2, 3, & 4 choir and Gr. 2 performed their numbers they have been practicing for the Festival and the teachers also did a special number for the students.
On Friday, the afternoon was filled with different activities for all the students such as donut making, kite making, chocolate making, origami, crafts, card making, skipping, Ukrainian dancing, face painting etc. All students thoroughly enjoyed participating in all these “hands on” activities! Thank you to all parent volunteers, teachers and support staff for organizing these exciting activities. This was a very busy and exciting week!
